In response to the national obesity crisis, the day is focused on health education and fun activities as we strive for a healthier community. We encouraged you to form a team and walk for one of the charities directly or indirectly related to the condition of obesity. (The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association, National Eating Disorder Association, The Arthritis Foundation or you can make a general donation to the Three Doctors Foundation.)
This was my first time attending an event like this. Surprisingly I learned a great deal on a number of health matters. I really look to attend and bring more folk out for next year's Walkathon.
